The flight, Helios HCY522, was a planned flight from Larnaca, Cyprus to Prague, Czech Republic via Athens, Greece. The 115 passengers and six crew members on board were fatally injured and the aircraft was destroyed. On the morning of August 14, 2005, at approximately 1203 local time, a Boeing 737-300, registration number 5B-DBY, operated by Helios Airways, impacted hilly terrain in the vicinity of Grammatiko, Hellas, Greece, approximately 33 km northwest of the Athens International Airport.
